January Bestsellers!

It’s that time again… January seemed like the longest month EVER. Anyone else feel like January was such a marathon? Wow… and we still have lots of winter left to endure, at least here in Michigan winter is not even close to being over. January was such a chill (literally and figuratively) month… I tried to take a step back from my usual “hurry/worry” lifestyle especially after the holidays and to be honest, I kind of had a lazy month but don’t feel one bit guilty about it. I’ve learned that January is a great month to have zero expectations on productivity or creativity. It’s a great month to just enjoy a “down” month.

As far as shopping it’s a great month to invest in basics while we are between seasons. This month I invested in some gorgeous sweaters and some classic jeans. Let’s take a look at what your favorites were for January!

joggers (run big, I went down a size), suede loafers (true to size), black cropped flare jeans (I went with my bigger size, shop here, here or here), mid-rise straight leg jean (runs big, I went with my smaller size), cashmere sweater (I went up a size for an oversized fit), white smocked blouseribbed sweater (runs a little big, I went with my usual size), clear zip makeup bag

top 10 Amazon finds for 2021!

Today I’m chatting all things Amazon with a big round up of the Amazon best sellers from the past year. Who can resist an amazing Amazon find? These items are definitely the best of the best too! Items I own and love and that you all loved this year too! From some pretty amazing sweaters to some gorgeous everyday jewelry to great basics like my favorite bras, all these items are vetted and loved by me! I think you will love them too…

gold bracelet set – the dainty jewelry trend was BIG in 2021 and these simple bracelets are pretty and affordable. I love that they don’t get super tangled either!

rose gold Apple Watch band – this is probably my most asked question… you all wanted to know about this watch band all year! I wear mine every day and even for workouts, it’s adjustable and has held up great. I think mine is about a year old and starting to look a little scratched on the underside but otherwise it’s held up amazing.

true & co. bra – my all time favorite bra! I have several of these and love them so much. It’s so comfortable and easy to wear with everything in my closet!

initial necklace – this cutie necklace is such a classic and makes for a great gift too!

clear makeup bag – I love these bags – they used to come in more colors but it looks like only white now. They are super affordable and great for everything from makeup to chargers to snacks to keep your bag organized.

gold huggie earrings – I’m not a huge earring person but I’m loving the huggie earring trend because they are so comfortable to wear and don’t feel heavy or irritate my ears. This pair is adorable!

muslin throw blanket – this blanket is gorgeous in person, perfectly lightweight for the warmer months around the house!

cable knit sweater – this is actually a mens sweater, I went with my usual size for an oversized fit. The fabric is so soft and NO itch!

puff sleeve sweatshirt – this was a 2021 favorite in my closet and sadly I had a great one that got a terrible stain (I’m terrible with spills, oops!). If you love the puff sleeve trend, this is a great affordable piece!

striped henley sweater – this is an absolute diamond! I just LOVE this sweater, it’s even prettier in person and so soft. I went up a size. Not sure why the model is wearing it off her shoulder like that… haha, I think just wearing it normal is best. ūüėČ

jillgg’s good life (for less)

¬†Welcome 2022! I had a really nice winter break with lots of family time and fun. It was part actioned packed at Disney and the other half was super chill at home. There were LOTS of lazy days and it was really nice to take a break from work for two straight weeks… I don’t think I’ve ever stepped away from my laptop for that long before. What a treat! I hope you had a great holiday and winter break and are ready to tackle the New Year (or kind of ready, I feel more “kind of” ready, haha!).

I’m excited to start a fresh year of content here on the blog and today I am rounding up all of your favorites from the past year. ¬†These are the items I have loved the most over the past year, so it’s no surprise you all loved them too. If you are looking to add some real tried and true pieces to your closet for the New Year – these items will NOT let you down.¬†

joggers¬†– these are GREAT joggers. A great price and they are so nice and thick and don’t bag out in the knees. I went down a size.

Riley distressed jeans Рdefinitely my most worn pair of jeans this year. They have the perfect amount of stretch and I love the distressing. I went with my bigger size in these jeans.

slide sandals Рdefinitely my most worn sandals from this past spring, summer and early fall. They are so comfortable to throw on for errands or with leggings for dog walks.

always pan Рthis is the first time a home item has made the yearly bestsellers list, but for good reason! This pan is SO so good. We just bought a second one because we use the first one at almost every meal and could use another!

straight leg jeans¬†– another favorite pair of jeans, I love this pair because it’s the perfect first step to straight jeans from skinny jeans. They fit and feel like a skinny up top with just a mini straight leg at the bottom. They are easy to wear and super flattering. This cut runs big, I go down a size in these.

cocoon coat¬†– This coat was a FA-VOR-ITE this year. I love it too! The perfect medium weight coat. I love it for errands since it’s not too bulky. Sizes and colors are very limited, I went down a size in this coat.

cable knit half zip¬†– much like the cocoon coat you all couldn’t get enough of this half zip sweater. And I know why! It’s a favorite in my closet as well and so incredibly soft and cozy. The cables make it extra warm!

clogs¬†– the clog trend is back and I was eager to jump into it this past fall. I’m pretty confident this trend will stick around for spring (or at least I hope so!) and can’t wait to wear mine again when the snow and extreme temps are done. This pair is surprisingly comfortable, but since they are wood/rubber soles they are definitely loud to walk in. Doesn’t deter me, I love them!

golden goose sneakers¬†– I don’t own this exact pair but GG sneakers were a fan favorite all year long. I own three pairs and yes they are crazy expensive but also they are consistently the most worn shoes in my closet for 3 years running now. I love how comfortable they are and always a pop of FUN for any look.

cotton-cashmere cardigan¬†– this is another GREAT basic. Super soft, machine washable and just completely classic. I wore this over the summer with tanks in cold spots and continue to wear it for fall and winter layered with tees or blouses. I’m thinking of grabbing another color too… it’s just so good.

November bestsellers!

November was a complete blur of gift guides, winter content and all the amazing sales during Cyber Week. Whew! Thank you to everyone who supported my content this past month. It was a very fun month with some great content. December is usually a much slower month for the blog and I’m ready to start winding down the year over the next few weeks. I plan to take some time off from posting later in December and I am already looking forward to that. But let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves. There is still plenty of holiday and winter content left to get to this month!

Today I’m pulling together the bestsellers from November. Each month when I pull together these posts there are usually a handful of items that were VERY popular (the cream rises to the top!) but with November being such a big shopping month there were SO MANY items that you all loved that I couldn’t narrow it down to the usual 5 or 6 items… I definitely had to throw in some extras. These are the items YOU all loved the most over the past month… and per the usual, you all have FABULOUS taste if I do say so myself. I truly love all of these pieces myself so I can see why you all love them as well.

half zip sweater – runs true to size, maybe a touch oversized, SUPER soft and cozy!
puff sleeve top – I went up a size because it runs a little small, fun and festive for the holidays!
grey cardigan, so soft and warm, true to size, I went with my usual size small.
stovepipe jeans, the perfect not-skinny-but-not-too-wide-leg jeans with plenty of stretch. I went down a size, they run big.
ring necklace, so pretty for a gift!
always pan, SUPER popular this holiday season, it’s a GREAT gift and seriously the best non-stick pan I’ve ever used. I’m ordering another one!
funnel neck sweatshirt – I love this one so much I own two! True to size.
Daphne coat – another item I love so much I own multiples, it’s perfect over dressier clothes or even over athleisure looks to elevate them. I wear a size 2.

October bestsellers!

Today I’m sneaking in the October bestsellers a little early… Monday is officially NOVEMBER (wha?) and I will be launching my gift guides next week Monday so this post is launching a little early to leave space for those. The bestsellers are all about what YOU all loved the most this past month. It was a cozy month for shopping… joggers, coats and lots of sweaters. Fall is in full swing and I’m really enjoying wearing all my cozy pieces and looks like you all are enjoying shopping for all the cozy pieces too! Let’s take a look at what you all loved the most this month.

(above) joggers
Sizing: These run a little big. I went down a size to XS.
These joggers are just the BEST. So comfortable but also nice thick fabric that still sucks you in (sometimes joggers can be too loose) and never bag out at the knees (super rare). Plus, they are under $50. You really can’t beat them!
Shown with: sweater, top, sneakers, bag is Polene

Sizing: True to size, I am in my usual size small.
The half zip sweater or sweatershirt is so on trend right now and I love that this option is super classic. It’s super warm and layers well.
Sizing: True to size. I am in my usual size small. This piece is a bit more fitted.
Classic, classic, classic! This sweater is nice and refined so while it works for everyday it also could work really well for the office or zoom meetings.
Shown with: jeans, loafers

Sizing: True to size, I am in a size 2, fits like a small.
This coat is a standby in my closet for fall and winter. It’s instantly refined and pulled together looking. I love it with jeans for dinner out or over leggings for errands.
Shown with: sweater, mulesjeans, bag

(above) agolde jeans
Sizing: I always go with my bigger size with this brand.
I just love agolde jeans lately, the few pairs I own are my GO-TO right now. This pair has the perfect amount of stretch to be flattering and comfortable.
(above) ankle boots
Sizing: True to size.
These are SO beautiful and really comfortable. You can see a few ways to style them here

September bestsellers!

I hope your October is off to a great start… it’s definitely felt more like fall where I live and I’m loving it. September was all about fall clothes on the blog and today I am rounding up the pieces that were YOUR favorite this month. It’s time for another bestsellers round up…

These were the pieces you loved the most and I must say, you all have the best taste! Some of my favorite jeans, coats and fall pieces were some of your favorites too! Let’s take a look at the pieces…

(above) quilted jacket
For the second month in a row, this jacket is a best seller! It’s SO cute and I’ve only worn it once so far (I have a feeling that will change later this month) and loved how comfortable and warm it was. I went down one size to an XS. You can see more jackets for fall in this post!

(above) cocoon blazer
This gorgeous sweater blazer was a big favorite this past month. It’s super cozy and works great as a jacket too. I went down one size to an XS since this blazer does run quite big. You can see more blazers for fall in this post

This pair of jeans is so fun for fall with a slight flare at the hem. They have great stretch that is very comfortable while being flattering too. Because of the stretch I go with my smaller size for this pair of jeans. You can see more Madewell favorites in this post.

(above) cozy joggers
This is an old post, but these joggers have been featured a few times here on the blog recently and also in my October Capsule which you can find here. They never stretch out and are the most flattering joggers I own, my husband calls them my ‘cute pants’. I went down a size in these joggers to an XS.

(above) Chloe tote
You all went gaga for this tote and it’s on my wishlist too (I’m thinking maybe a Christmas gift to me, from me!) It’s just gorgeous! It was featured in this post originally.
(above) cream cardigan
Everyone loves a cardigan for fall! Me included! This one was super popular this month and I can see why. It’s very soft and the buttons are so pretty. I went with my usual size small for this piece. You can see more of my Madewell favorites in this post.

jillgg’s good life (for less)

It’s that time again! Time to round up last month’s bestsellers. August was the longest month EVER and seemed to just drag on… it was truly the dog days of summer in our house. I’m so thankful for the fresh start of September and all it brings with it. For August you all had fall on the mind too! Sweaters and a jacket and accessories show me you all were thinking fall and getting back to ‘regular’ life to some extent. Here are the items YOU ALL loved the most last month…

These Amazon finds are such gems. I’m really loving adding jewelry to my outfits again these days. It just feels a little extra special and fancy. You all loved these pieces too! You can find more Amazon jewelry favorites here

This $20 favorite was a fan favorite this past month for good reason. It’s beautiful fabric and such a good price. This piece runs big, I went down a size. This cardigan is featured in an H&M try on here!

This sweater was a super random find on Amazon since it’s a mens sweater. It’s incredibly soft and perfectly oversized. I highly recommend it. Since it’s mens sizing, it runs long and big. I went with a small for an oversized fit. You can find more Amazon favorites from August here

This cocoon coat was an instant favorite with you all. It was originally¬†shown here¬†and then I sneak peeked it on Instagram Stories and it was a bestseller right away. If you find J.Crew outerwear on sale and in stock and like it, definitely snag it. It’s such a rarity. This coat is 40% off right now so it’s a great time to shop! This jacket runs big, I went down one size.

This sweater is so classic and soft. I’ve used it a few times as a layer over tees and tanks and I can’t wait to wear it more this fall and winter. ¬†You can find more recent J.Crew finds here and here.

jillgg’s good life (for less)

August is in full swing and I almost forgot to round up the bestsellers for July! These items are the ones YOU ALL loved the most for the month of July. Many of them are NSale finds and sold out so I will link directly to them if you want to check for restocks (I will keep an eye on them too) and then also try to link similar items.

(above)¬†By far the bestseller for the month was these jeans which are sadly out of stock now or on some days very limited stock, I’ll watch for restocks but THIS pair is very similar. I went with my bigger size since this brand tends to run a little small for me.

(above) This sweater was another huge fan favorite – also for very good reason! It’s super soft and I love the boxy fit and funnel neck. I originally¬†bought it in an XS (shown here) but ended up¬†returning it for a small which is just slightly roomier.¬†I can NOT wait for cool weather to wear this cozy piece!

(above) This sweater was another favorite during the NSale and it’s another one I personally¬†love and can’t wait to wear. It’s affordable, super soft and such a classic. I went with down a size in this sweater since it does run a little big.
(above) These True & Co bras are always making the bestseller list! You all love them and I do too… so comfortable, thrown them in the wash (no delicate cycle necessary) and you can buy the original¬†(on the left)¬†OR the less expensive Target version¬†(on the right), so there is one for every budget! I also have my eye on this one and will be snagging it soon – I’m patiently waiting for it to restock in my size.
(above) This cashmere scarf is from the NSale 3 or 4 years ago. It’s such a classic and so beautiful for fall and winter. I also like to travel with a cashmere scarf any time of year for cold cars or planes. I get cold so easy and this keeps me the perfect temperature.

June Bestsellers!

It’s that TIME again… the month of June just flew by and I have a feeling July is about to be the same. Slow down summer, please! Let’s take a look at all YOUR favorites for the month of June from the blog and social… and I know I say this every month, but you all have the best taste!

(above) True & co bra
Shop at Nordstrom, shop at Amazon or shop the budget version here
I’ve been wearing these bras for about a year now and really they are the ONLY bra I wear. They are super comfortable and look great under tees, tanks, sweaters, you name it. You can shop from either Nordstrom or Amazon  depending on your preference. There is a budget version too! The only difference is that the straps aren’t convertible on the budget version (meaning they don’t switch from tank style to racerback). I have both versions, but slightly prefer the original over the budget version. I highly, highly recommend these… they were a huge seller last month for Amazon Prime Day and sadly aren’t on sale at the moment, but I will sound the alarm when they go back on sale!
Sizing: True to size, I followed the sizing guide to order.
(above) denim shorts
These denim shorts have now made the bestseller list like 3 or 4 months out of this year! They are FOR SURE a hit. I love the light wash and oversized fit and they are even on sale right now – yay! You really can’t go wrong with these and I see why everyone loves them! You can see them featured in my denim short review post HERE.
Sizing: I usually take a 26/27 in this brand and went with the 26. They are a bit oversized so they still are perfectly slouchy even in my smaller size.
I am obsessed with button front tops these days and this one is no exception… it’s super soft and oversized and you can see it styled HERE six ways. Spoiler alert: this top is super versatile. I’ll be sad when linen season ends this fall.
Sizing: This top runs quite large, I’m in a size 0 and it’s still perfectly oversized. I recommend going down one size or maybe two.
These are one of my favorites for sure this month… I was glad to see you all loved them too! They are SUPER comfortable and the braided rope is so summery and fun. I’ve worn them A LOT to say the least and they still look great. They are perfect with jeans, shorts or dresses all summer. And they are affordable too. They were first featured in THIS post!
Sizing: I went with my usual size, but they are maybe a touch big. If you are between sizes or worried about them being too big, maybe go down a size.
This was a bestseller last month too! And it was also featured in my “what I packed for vacation” post HERE. I’m sad I didn’t end up wearing it on vacation, I just ran out of time! It’s incredibly pretty in person and is such a great summer piece.
Sizing: True to size, I am in my usual size small.
