My spring capsule is only a few weeks late… wink, wink! But it’s finally here! I’ve been so uninspired for spring with the terrible weather we are having but the weather is finally on the up and up and I’m feeling much more inspired for spring dressing. I just LOVE this round up of looks for spring… simple and classic pieces that mix and match easily with small pops of color and plenty of classics! What more could you ask for? I hope you love these gorgeous pieces and all the outfits just as much as I do!
Who is ready for spring break!?!? Both hands raised here… January and February felt like they were a year long, each! I’m so ready for some sunshine and warmth but also just to get away from my house and my routines and just start fresh for a new season. I always feel like spring break is a time of renewal to prep for a busy spring season before summer arrives. I love the sunshine, undivided family time, dining out, adventures… all of it. And I’m pretty sure I’ve been thinking about what I’m going to pack since January.
This month’s capsule is an ode to spring break and the perfect minimal packing list for your trip. Our families spring break is always part plenty of beach or pool time and part family or touristy activities. With that in mind I included outfits for casual days of sightseeing or shopping combined with some more pulled together looks for dining out and plenty of swim inspiration too. My goal was to choose really versatile pieces that can mix and match for the entire trip to minimize on packing. The green, white and black hues make for an easy to pull together capsule that hints at the greens in palm trees and foliage (which is all still dead here in the midwest and I’m craving!), plenty of white for that fresh vacation feel and touches of black because it’s so easy to wear and rewear. There are 20 pieces here and I pulled together 12 corresponding outfits which is plenty for a week of vacation. The options are limitless with these 20 pieces and you can definitely get creative and come up with so many more outfits depending on the vibe of your trip. I hope you love this inspiration!
I’m back with an NEW capsule today! I’ve had a lot of questions about when and how the capsule will return. You all LOVED this series this past fall and early winter, you can see the archives HERE.
Today I am launching a late winter/early spring capsule. This time of year is SO tricky… for us in Michigan it’s very much still winter but for many across the country it’s definitely feeling like spring towards the end of this month. The late winter capsule is focused on transitional pieces that you can start wearing now, here and there and as the weather warms through February and March you can wear more and more.
This month is really focused on both February and March and maybe even a bit of April. For the month of March I will pull together a spring break/travel exclusive capsule and starting in April I will move to monthly capsules again as the seasons continue to change into the fall and winter again. So that is our road map for now…
But today let’s look at the pieces and outfits that are inspiring me right now… simple mix and match pieces including pieces for layering and some coats/jackets since we are very much still having cold days. I also included some creamy white jeans since I’m really loving that look lately and they are a great winter to spring transitional piece after wearing a lot of blue jeans and leggings all winter.
Today I’ve got a mini capsule for you for December. Filled with festive looks for casual or dressy days for the month of December. I focused on pieces that will mix and match easily and that have a little extra festive flair to them for this season of celebration. While most of the looks are Christmas themed with plaids and red and green abundant, some of the more neutral looks will work great for New Years Eve as well. Some of the looks even work for a festive office look as well. I always love adding a little something extra like a pop of plaid, a festive headband or a wintery clutch to a look to give it a more Christmas-y vibe. You can go for just a touch of festive flair, or a lot! Let’s take a look at the pieces and the outfits… I’ve got 15 pieces and 9 outfits!
Today I’m bringing you a little mini capsule collection for November. It’s a touch smaller than my previous September and October capsules since those cover fall outfits quite well. This month’s capsule is more focused on the cozy month of November and Thanksgiving more specifically. From a beautiful outfit to wear to Thanksgiving dinner or Friendsgiving, to some extra cozy pieces for hanging out at home shopping online on Black Friday to some warm pieces for venturing out for tree shopping that long weekend. This post is alllllll about Thanksgiving festivities and that November cozy mood that I can’t wait to dig into this month. I hope you find lots of inspiration here for a month of gratitude and family fun.
Last month I launched a new capsule collection series that I hoped to continue to release every season for seasonal inspiration for clothing. Immediately after releasing it I had tons of requests to do it monthly… so here is the second fall capsule for the month of October (by the way, HOW is it October already?!?). You can view the September installment here for more outfit inspiration for fall. I’m so glad you all enjoyed the first go at this type of post and today I’m really excited to share the October Capsule Collection.
This fall I’m craving simplicity and comfort alongside really wanting to feel pulled together. I still love a bit of lounge wear here and there but for the most part I’ve really enjoyed getting dressed each day and planning out my outfits each day. It feels good to look good – for me at least!
I’ve pulled together 20 easy to wear pieces for the month of October that will mix and match easily for lot of fall outfits. October is all about cozy pieces and layering and warm fall hues. There are a few items I reused from the previous capsule like the ankle boots and straight leg jeans. Those pieces are so versatile I couldn’t resist repeating them. I also added a few more pieces this time around since I had requests for more layers and more options. Here are the 20 pieces and then you can scroll down to see them all put together in outfits to make getting dressed in the morning super easy!

Let’s take a look at some of the outfits I pulled together with these pieces… all these pieces are so versatile that the mixing and matching options are endless here. But I pulled together just 12 looks to get you started… There are plenty of layers (optional) for those cold days and some less layered looks for warmer fall days.
Happy September! Can you believe its here! I’m sooooo ready for the fresh start of fall and I’m really excited to bring you a fall capsule collection full of great closet staples for fall and lots of corresponding outfit options for the pieces I selected. Of course, there are TONS of outfit options for these items so feel free to do some mixing and matching on your own too… this is just a place to start!
This fall I’m approaching my closet in a much different way from last year. Last year I craved comfort and lots of lounge for what felt like an impossibly hectic time of life. This year I crave comfort but in a different way. I’m craving more structure, more femininity and lots of classics. It could be my age or just that the world seems like it’s falling apart around us in perpetuity but I find myself moving away from trends and frivolity with clothes and really wanting to dig in to classics. There is a certain feeling of not caring what is “in style” and more just working to tune into what I truly love. In a world that feels crazy and heartbreaking and out of control, I want my clothing to be the exact opposite – curated, beautiful, a known entity.
With this in mind I pulled together a small group of clothing items that are inspiring me for fall and hope that you all enjoy them too. These items are simple and easy to wear while balancing comfort with style. I crave feeling pulled together after a long season of leggings and sweatshirts. But I’m also not afraid to seek extreme comfort in my wardrobe when needed. I’ve always said I’m a very emotional dresser – I dress for my emotions that day and how I am dressed for the day often inspires my day. Classic comfort like a big oversized sweater and a great pair of jeans, helps me face a tough or super busy day and feeling pulled together with a blazer or blouse, always helps me be more productive. Maybe it’s silly, but clothes very much make a difference in my day. They are my ever present pep talk throughout the day.
Let’s take a look at the pieces I pulled together and then I’m excited to share some outfit ideas with the pieces as well!
